What Is Non-Woven Geotextile Fabric?

Non-woven geotextiles are manufactured by binding short and long fibres together through needle punching or other alternative methods. Usually, heat treatment is applied to ensure the geotextile’s strength is improved.

Non-woven geotextiles are usually made using synthetic materials such as polyester or polypropylene and they are permeable.

They are best used in projects that require protection, filtration, separation, and drainage.

There are multiple ways that geotextiles can be used today. For instance, you can find them in breakwaters, drains, harbour works, railways, roads, drainage, moisture barriers, filtration, reinforcement, stabilisation and used to separate materials such as soil, mulch, gravels etc.
